Raiganj Institute of Inspiration and Empowerment for Livelihood Generation (RIIELG) was founded on July 9, 2012, by a coalition of professionals, industry experts, academics, former bankers, and social workers. The organization’s primary objective is to promote socio-economic development among
underprivileged populations, including unemployed youth, students, women, farmers, artisans, self-help groups, and backward communities, as well as existing micro, small, and medium enterprises and industry associations. RIIELG’s core philosophy revolves around self-reliance, entrepreneurship development, and livelihood enhancement. To achieve its goals, the Institute engages in both individual enterprise building and group / community enterprise development initiatives across all Indian states. Key strategies employed by RIIELG include needs assessment, diagnostic studies, tailored training module design, ergonomic tool and machine development, awareness creation, trust building, skill and entrepreneurship development training, management development programmes, lean manufacturing practices, IoT digital marketing, and handholding support.

The Institute is implementing the programmes and activities with support from Government organisations, universities and industry associations. RIIELG is affiliated to and accredited with undernoted organizations in different capacities:

  • Technical Associate to Directorate of Rural Engineering & New Technology Industries (RENTI) of Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC), a statutory body of Ministry of MSME, Government of India.
  • Technical Agency (TA) for cluster development under Scheme of Fund for Regeneration of Traditional Industries (SFURTI), a scheme of Ministry of MSME, Government of India. Empaneled as TA with KVIC, the Central Nodal Agency and Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship, Guwahati (IIEG) which is an Institute under Ministry of Entrepreneurship & Skill Development, Government of India. 
  • Empaneled as NGO with Development Commissioner (DC) Handicrafts under Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
  • Enlisted as Professional Training Institute by KVIC with Multi-Disciplinary Training Center, Kolkata.
  • Empaneled as Entrepreneurship Development Training Institute with Directorate of MSME under Dept. of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise & Textiles, Government of West Bengal.
  • Acted as Study Center under School of Vocational Studies of Netaji Subhas Open University.
